The exhibition hall at Schulstrasse 1a is in the immediate vicinity of Frankfurt's Museumsufer, the city's collection of museums along the southern bank of the river Main. The former laundry covers an area of approx. 250 square metres in the courtyard behind a half-timbered house in one of the oldest streets in Sachsenhausen, which begins in the apple wine district and ends on the bank of the Main at the Eiserner Steg footbridge. The functional industrial 1960s architecture joins laterally with older building elements and also provides business premises and sanitary facilities. Since April 1999, the structure has been used for exhibitions and other cultural events.
