About Film Commission Hessen

Film Commission Hessen is a service agency of Hessische Filmförderung (Hessen Film Fund, HFF) that assists film production companies to prepare for production work in the region. That can include finding and making contact with locations and any necessary authorisation bodies.

As part of this process, Film Commission Hessen can recommend location scouts, name contacts in local authorities and mediate contacts with businesses.

The Location Database is an online research tool that provides insight into the broad range of settings and locations in Hesse.

The Address Database names and introduces firms, freelance specialists, regional service providers, institutions, artists and film-makers.

One of Film Commission Hessen’s other tasks is conducting location marketing for Hesse as a film location.

Film Commission Hessen is a joint project of Hessische Filmförderung in collaboration with Filmhaus Frankfurt e.V. The body in charge is Film- und Kinobüro Hessen e.V.

Film Commission Hessen is supported by Hessen Agentur, the state initiative hessen-media, Hesse’s Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts and Wirtschaftsförderung Frankfurt (Frankfurt Economic Development).
